Even though we’ve been spot on about our theories so far, the twists in High Class still leave us surprised every time and we eagerly wait for the truth to be uncovered. However, as the plot progresses, we can’t help but feel sorry for the children who are caught between the games that the adults are playing.
There are so many layers to the story and, we’re no closer to uncovering the truth than Yeo Wool is. Each character is hiding so many secrets, and all we can say for sure is that, Yeo Wool should be prepared as she is in for a lot to happen, in the upcoming episodes.
Review: ‘High Class’ – A Few Answers And A Lot More Questions (Episode 3 and 4)
Episode 5 picks up where Episode 4 left off, Na Yoon is at Yeo Wool’s house, and it seems like she wants to kill her. She does fail as the latter wakes up in the middle of the night and even though, we were prepared for Na Yoon’s hatred, we still got chills while watching this. It is weird that instead of being angry at Ahn Ji Yong who was the reason for this mess, Na Yoon is after Yeo Wool. Though, with Ji Yong not around anymore, it seems that Na Yoon’s anger is getting directed to the next best target.
Na Yoon’s Dark Secret
At the school, Jae In finds the family photo Yi Chan had carried with him to Camp night. At this moment, the show confirms that Na Yoon had an affair with Ahn Ji Yong, and Jae In is his illegitimate child. Due to this discovery, Jae In cannot sleep, and she goes to Danny Oh. He consoles her and takes the phone she had found in Yi Chan’s bag (the very same phone which has been a source of intrigue since episode 1). It must have been very confusing for Jae In, to find a picture of her father with her friend and his mother. But she seemed excited about this discovery. She always stands up for him and thinks of him as a good friend, probably very unlike what Na Yoon wants, considering that she forbade Jae In from revealing this secret to anyone.
At the same time, Na Yoon was also working with Nam Ji Sun to expel Yi Chan out of the school. But through a twist of fate, Yeo Wool ends up being the legal representative for the PTA. Yeo Wool also discovers Na Yoon’s affair with her husband and gives the latter a taste of her own medicine by taking Jae In with her.
Danny Oh’s Double Life
Surprisingly, the show revealed Danny’s secret double life quite early on. Danny turned out to be Oh Sang Soon, the detective hired by Yeo Wool to investigate the happenings on the island. He probably knows more about everyone’s lives than he is letting on, and in the end, he’ll probably be the one who will help Yeo Wool uncover her husband’s dealings. Even though we aren’t yet clear about his motives, it is clear that he has come to care about Yeo Wool.
Show Me The Money
Everything in this show is tied to money. The exclusion of Yeo Wool, Ahn Ji Yong’s shady dealings, Yi Chan receiving an invitation to HSC, it’s all tied with money. The chairwoman also showed her true colours by revealing that her interest lies in whatever is at Hong Kong, and whether Yeo Wool knows about it or not. Even Da Young’s boyfriend seems to have an ulterior motive. But, what’s with everyone living double lives? Is there anyone who is at least better than the rest?
Verdict
High Class is full of puzzles and doubt. Secrets are being revealed one by one, which is no doubt a great source of excitement to the viewers. We have the answers to some questions, but those answers leave more questions for us. Sooner or later, we will discover the mystery behind Ahn Ji Yong’s death but it is not now.
