K-Pop group M.O.N.T has always been known for their heartfelt music, unyielding dedication, and authentic connection with fans. Celebrating their 6th debut anniversary, the trio has once again captured attention with their 5th mini-album, ‘Somewhere Out There’ which was released on January 4, 2025.
In an exclusive interview with Namaste Hallyu, the members, Narachan, Bitsaeon, and Roda, spilled the tea on the journey behind this release, their creative process, and shared a sneak peek into their plans for 2025, as well as heartfelt messages for their global fans, including Indian MINTs (M.O.N.T’s fandom).
A Journey Through ‘Somewhere Out There’
The mini-album ‘Somewhere Out There’ represents not just a milestone in M.O.N.T’s career but also a reflection of their growth as artists. Roda explained the inspiration behind the title track ‘On My Way (OMW)’ and said, “It’s a song born out of hard times when I felt the urge to escape and go somewhere,” which also happens to be the literal translation of the song’s Korean title, ‘어딘가로’. He further added that the song and the album ‘Somewhere Out There’ have been themed around the same concept.
The album includes a mix of tracks, each telling its own story. Roda, who served as the main producer for the album, recalled the challenges and rewards of overseeing the project. While Roda mentioned it was a very hard task, “But you did good,” Narachan chimed in, drawing smiles all around.
“One of the most special memories was directing most of the songs during the creation process.”

From the high-energy anthem ‘SPEED’, designed to “leave your stress and get rid of it through a song,” to ‘When Winter Comes’, a cozy carol gifted to fans during the holiday season, each track offers something unique. ‘Double Triple’ dives into themes of risk-taking and commitment, tying back to the album’s overarching concept of seeking something greater in life.
M.O.N.T’s Evolving Identity
Over the years, M.O.N.T has consistently pushed boundaries, exploring various genres while staying true to their roots. “This album is a clear representation of M.O.N.T as a group and showcases our diversity as artists,” Narachan emphasized. The members also talked about how they are always trying new things and presenting fresh performances for their fans.
With the K-Pop industry constantly evolving, M.O.N.T is committed to adapting while preserving their essence. “Music changes genres, and the message we give can change depending on the situation,” Bitsaeon reflected.
“But M.O.N.T’s identity will always be about music we enjoy together, where we can perform and sing along with the audience.” – Bitsaeon, M.O.N.T
Staying Creative as Artists
Creativity thrives on inspiration, and each member of M.O.N.T has developed unique habits to keep their artistic sparks alive. Roda, ever the meticulous producer, revealed, “I record my voice or thoughts whenever I have a special idea so I can go back to it later.” Meanwhile, Bitsaeon turns to movies and dramas for fresh perspectives. “I watch a lot of dramas and movies,” he shared, explaining how they inspire him. Narachan relies on vocal exercises and breathing techniques to keep his performance-ready voice in top shape, even carrying a vocal exercise tool everywhere he goes.
As the interview drew to a close, M.O.N.T expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their loyal MINTs. “Thank you so much for always supporting us,” said Roda. Bitsaeon added, “I miss you.” Narachan summed it up perfectly: “Love you always! MINTs, I love you!”
The group shared a special shoutout for their Indian fans, reminiscing about their past performances in India. “Thank you for remembering us and the memories we made together,” they said.
“We hope to tour India again with this album. Please stay safe and don’t catch a cold. Happy New Year!”

The trio’s plans for 2025 include more performances, new music, and international tours. Bitsaeon hinted, “Roda will make a good song,” while Narachan expressed hopes of performing on stages worldwide.
