Mnet is reportedly bringing back its popular hip-hop survival show, ‘Show Me the Money,’ for a 12th season.
On June 4, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Mnet has officially approved the new season of ‘Show Me the Money’ and is currently finalizing production details, including the selection of producers who will serve as judges. In response to the reports, Mnet stated, “We are currently preparing Mnet’s hip-hop IPs, including ‘Show Me the Money,’ with new plans.”
This potential comeback aligns with Mnet’s 30th anniversary. Notably, during the ‘Mnet 30th Anniversary Chart Show’ earlier this year, Shin Hyung Kwan, head of CJ ENM’s music content division, had already hinted at the show’s return, noting that the company was “exploring various options.”
‘Show Me the Money’ last aired in 2022, when rapper Lee Young Ji made history as the first female winner of the show in Season 11. Since its debut in 2012, ‘Show Me the Money’ has played a key role in elevating Korean hip-hop and launching the careers of many rising artists.
