On September 20, singer-songwriter YUJU dropped her second digital single ‘DALALA.’
YUJU, along with Latin Grammy Award-nominated songwriter Paulina “PAU” Cerrilla and Grammy Award-nominated Asian-American producer, songwriter, DJ, and musician Shintaro Yasuda, co-wrote and composed the single, with Shintaro Yasuda handling the song’s arrangement.
The track combines elements from both J-Pop and Pop music, featuring a funky bassline, drums, and synths that create a nostalgic atmosphere. It incorporates rhodes, electric guitar, and piano, adding a hint of jazz to the song.
YUJU originally made her mark in the K-Pop industry as the main vocalist of the globally known girl group ‘GFriend.’ Post the group’s disbandment, she embarked on her solo music journey after joining Konnect Entertainment.
Her solo career took off with the release of her first mini album ‘REC’ in January 2022, followed by her second mini album ‘O’ in March 2023. Besides her albums, she has consistently dropped various digital singles and contributed original soundtracks to Korean dramas. Notably, in 2022, she received accolades recognizing her exceptional vocal talent, including the K Global Vocal Award at the K Global Heart Dream Awards, the APAN K-POP Rable Award at The 8th APAN Star Awards, and the Top Trending Artist Award at the 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards.
