THE BOYZ are back with their single album, ‘Maverick’, which is a follow-up to their 6th mini-album, ‘Thrill-ing’. On November 1, the group dropped an action-packed MV for the title track.
The beginning of the music video for ‘Maverick’ is reminiscent of ‘Squid Game’ as the members are transported in a van whilst blindfolded. The electronic neck collars with the word ‘Maverick’ reminds one of the collars in the Japanese survival drama, ‘Alice in Borderland’.
But this is where the similarities end, as they partake in deadly tasks to discover the best versions of themselves. The accompanying verses compliment the theme of the MV, and the pre-chorus is the show-stealer. A hip-hop track with a powerful rhythm, the song conveys the message of not following the rules and taking on a novel path.
The single album consists of two tracks, ‘Russian Roulette’ and ‘Hypnotized’. You can listen to the ‘Maverick’ below:
