Episodes 3 and 4 of ‘Forecasting Love and Weather’ takes the viewers into a journey of self-discovery and the breathtaking experience of moving on to mend broken hearts.
Review: Forecasting Love and Weather – The Storm Before The Romance (Episode 1 & 2)
Plot Summary
The two episodes are canonical just like the show’s premiere and majorly focuses on Ha Kyung and Lee Shi Woo; trying to form a steamy-respectable bond irrespective of Ha Kyung’s repetitive reminder to herself “Office Romance will be the death of me.”
It’s Hot In Here!
The show being metaphorically mercurial has been constantly drawing parallels to the weather. These two episodes are not only unapologetically fast-paced but experimental. The third episode starts with our main couple ending in bed together and making a pact of acting it all cool; with them forming a strong bond at the end of episode four. The viewers are gifted with not one but many romantic gestures in the office with no one noticing that two broken hearts trying to move on will end up healing each other.
Real Workplace Woes
The show is extremely unique in not only romance but also in presenting the whole office scenario. Team 2 led by Ha Kyung is re-arranged and put to test when she gets late. Forecaster Eom Dang Han is requested by everyone in the team, except Ha Kyung herself to present the weather updates which he denies. When Ha Kyung confronts him, he respectfully clarifies her seniority and the responsibility to ‘order’ him. Being younger to him didn’t impact or hurt his ego. The scene was simple but a very important and rare one. Kudos to the writer.
Reminiscing the Past
While the main leads are enjoying their newly found love interest, their ex-partners are not having the time of their lives. Along with a rocky married relationship, Ki Joon and Yoo Jin are constantly reminded of how much their partners had helped them in both personal and professional life. This part of the storyline seems reminiscent of any K-Drama storyline, so it felt a bit unoriginal.
Verdict
Though the episodes felt slow, the ending of the fourth episode transformed the perspective of the story which turned out to be a sweet surprise that no one would’ve expected. The manipulation of the episode is the highlight of the weekend.
All in all, Ha Kyung is slowly immersing herself in the romantic attraction towards Lee Shi Woo, even though she knows it might not end up well. But she is going with the flow, but a “flow with a lot of bumps.” On the other hand, Lee Shi Woo is unstoppable even after a sad break-up. He is out there pouring himself and being fearless towards Ha Kyung; even though she made it clear that their relationship has to be kept secret. The respect between them in their relationship; where no one has to compromise or be someone else that is sometimes hard to be seen.
And that’s it for episodes 3 and 4. Are you watching this drama? Are you enjoying it as much as we are? Let us know in the comments!
