The future course of MONSTA X has been officially revealed by Starship Entertainment.
On August 8 KST, the agency reported in a press conference that all members will remain with MONSTA X, however member I.M will leave the company.
The group took a temporary break a month ago and they assured the fans that they are working on various new projects to meet the fans very soon. According to Starship Entertainment, I.M‘s contract ended after a long discussion but he will still take part in group activities.
The contracts of the six remaining members, Shownu (who is presently serving in the military), Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Joohoney, have been extended. I.M will continue to participate in upcoming group activities. After the news broke out, I.M posted a handwritten letter on the official fan cafe page where he greeted all his co members for their future journey and thanked his fans by showing his gratitude.

Seven years have gone by since I made my first start as a singer with Starship.
As we’ve been together for a long time, I’ve grown fond [of Starship], but I thought I needed a new challenge with different meaning, so after a lot of thinking, I came to this decision.
I want to sincerely thank my Starship family members who I’ve spent many days with, laughing and crying together up until now.
To Monbebe, who created our happiest and brightest moments with us. I will prioritize MONSTA X’s promotions and MONSTA X will be with Monbebe as six, like always.

The group’s fanbase, MONBEBE, was first taken aback but exhaled a breath of relief when they heard that I.M will continue to promote as a member of the group.
I.M debuted with the group in 2015 and he made his solo debut in February 2021. The group made a comeback earlier this year, with their album “SHAPE of LOVE.”
It is not known yet which company I.M will be signing under but it is expected to be announced soon.
