Get ready, KBS‘s upcoming drama ‘Twelve’, is set to take fantasy K-dramas to another level. With its first official poster out now, we’re getting a fierce glimpse of what happens when divine warriors return to Earth and peace begins to crumble.
Rooted in the mythology of the Eastern zodiac, ‘Twelve’ spins a fresh , high-stakes tale. Once upon a time, twelve celestial guardians sealed ancient evil behind the gates of hell. But evil never stays buried, does it? Now those guardians are back, hidden among us in modern day Korea, reawakened by a creeping darkness that threatens to rise again.

At the heart of this fiery face-off is Ma Dong Seok, taking center stage as Tae San, the tiger angel and the unshakable leader of the Twelve. Cloaked in divine armour and radiating raw power, he doesn’t need to say a word — his presence alone warns: peace is over, it’s time to fight.
But what’s light without shadow?
Here enters Park Hyung Sik as O-Gwi, the brooding villain in chaos. His huge black wings tower behind him like a warning, his cold stare says it all — he’s here to destroy everything the angels once fought so hard to protect. The tension in the poster with Tae San’s stoic strength up against O-Gwi’s icy malice, promises a showdown that’s more than just good vs evil.
And the rest of the cast? Absolutely stacked!
Featuring a stellar cast: Seo In Guk steps in as Won Seung, a sharp-tongued strategist representing monkeys. Lee Joo Bin glows as Mir, the dragon angel wise, elegant, and way more dangerous than she looks. Ko Kyu Pil brings the chaos as Doni, the quirky genius snake who’s more than just comic relief. Kang Mi Na gives us full warrior mode as Kang Ji, the fierce dog angel. Sung Yoo Bin plays Jwi Dol, the youthful yet lethal rat angel whose innocence is deceptive.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Ahn Ji Hye plays Mal Suk, a mysterious horse angel. Regina Lei appears as Bang Ui, a quiet but powerful snake angel with ancient healing knowledge. And then there’s Sung Dong Il as Ma Rok, the only human chosen by the divine god. Once a general in their old war, now a hidden guide, he’s the quiet force preparing the angels to rise again.
Each angel blends into the society like any other human but underneath they are celestial warriors carrying millenia of duty, loss and power. Their mission? To stop the rebirth of darkness before it consumes the world again.
The best part? With only an 8-episode run, ‘Twelve’, promises a unique fusion of fantasy, mythical retelling, and celestial war.
