According to a report by Hankyung, “Kim Joo Ryoung has been chosen for the upcoming drama ‘Sparkling Watermelon.‘”
This will be Kim Joo Ryoung’s third K-drama of the year if she confirms her casting. The main character of ‘Sparkling Watermelon’ is a youngster who leads a double life. He is a band member at a mysterious music shop and is renowned as a model student. He will time travel to see his father when he is 18 years old, and the two of them will start a band named ‘Watermelon Sugar.’
Kim Joo Ryoung plays Lim Ji Mi. She is a resident tutor of Cheong Ah who is deaf. She slowly isolates Cheong Ah from her family to realize her desires. The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration project of director Son Jung Hyun and writer Jin Soo Wan. It will be led by Ryeoun, Choi Hyun Wook, Seol In Ah, and Shin Eun Soo.
‘Sparkling Watermelon’ is set to premiere in the second half of the year.
