Hwang Min-hyun is set to star in TVING’s upcoming drama ‘Study Group’.
On August 10 KST, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed the news by stating, “Hwang Min-hyun has been cast as the role of Yoon Ga Min for the drama ‘Study Group’. This drama will be filmed in the second half of this year.”
Based on the webtoon ‘Study Group,‘ the drama revolves around the story of a student, Yoon Ga Min, who strives for academic success but is just skilled in fighting.
Within the challenging environment of Yusung Technical High School, renowned as one of the toughest schools, Yoon Ga Min forms a study group. While aiming to portray himself as a dedicated and disciplined scholar pursuing college admission, he unveils his true fighting abilities to protect his bullied friends and confronts a dark narrative linked to college entrance exams.
Hwang Min-hyun began his career as a lead vocalist of K-Pop boy group ‘NU’EST‘ in 2012, which later disbanded in 2022. Since then, he has been working as a soloist artist and actor. He has worked in popular dramas including ‘Live On‘ (2020) and ‘Alchemy of Souls‘ (2022-23). He is currently starring in tvN’s on-going mystery rom-com drama ‘My Lovely Liar‘, showcasing his versatility as a promising actor.
