On May 2, CUBE Entertainment’s girl group (G)I-DLE rebranded themselves as i-dle and released a special mini-album, ‘We are i-dle’, to mark their seventh debut anniversary.
The rebranding announcement was accompanied by a black-and-white teaser video titled ‘for (G)’, which featured a beat remix of ‘LATATA’, the group’s debut track.
The special mini-album, ‘We are i-dle’, was released at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST) on May 2. The album consists of nine tracks—‘LATATA’, ‘HANN (Alone)’, ‘Senorita’, ‘Uh-Oh’, ‘Oh my god’, ‘LION’, ‘i’M THE TREND’, ‘DUMDi DUMDi’, and ‘HWAA’. These are re-recorded versions of their previous title tracks released between May 2, 2018, and January 11, 2021, featuring the current five members: Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua.
On the same day, i-dle also announced plans to release their eighth mini-album later this month and dropped a series of concept images for the upcoming release.
