Super Junior members Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kyuhyun part ways with their agency, SM Entertainment.
Earlier today, SM Entertainment announced the news stating, “Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kyuhyun will not renew their contracts and will each be pursuing individual activities.” The company additionally stated that they will be cheering for members as they take on new challenges. The company however assured that the members will continue to promote with Super Junior and assured that they plan to communicate closely with the members so that effectively carry out both their group activities as well as their individual activities at the same time.
This marks the first agency change for the members as Eunhyuk and Donghae have been with SM for 18 years while Kyuhyun has been with SM Entertainment for 17 years.
SM Entertainment additionally reported that other Super Junior members – Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Siwon and Ryeowook have renewed their exclusive contracts with the agency and stated that, “Super Junior who has set multiple records throughout its career will solidify their position as the legend of K-Pop and fully backed by the agency, Super Junior will open a new chapter.” The agency further added that, “Super Junior will continue with both its group and solo activities in the future and will meet its global fans with new music, a variety of performances and fan meetings within 2023.”
Super Junior debuted in 2005 with its full-length album ‘Super Junior05’, while Kyuhyun joined the group in 2006 when the group dropped its first single ‘U.’ Super Junior is one of the major groups that debuted under SM Entertainment and have continuously released multiple hit tracks throughout their career.
Korean Media additionally reported that Eunhyuk and Donghae will establish their own label, whereas Kyuhyun was rumored to sign an exclusive contract with Antenna.
