On October 25, hip-hop group Epik High dropped their pre-release single ‘FACE ID’ on various music streaming platforms. The single is a precursor to the release of the upcoming album ‘EPIK HIGH IS HERE PART 2’.
The track is a collaboration of the group with Giriboy, Sik-K and Justhis. During an interview, Tablo mentioned the difficulties one had to face after COVID-19 in order to see each other face to face and this is what inspired them to create a song related to it. While introducing the song the artist mentioned that the song intends to deliver the message that one must speak to each other face to face whether it be about something good or bad.
The rap particularly speaks powerfully and emphasizes the importance of talking face to face. The drum beats along with the bass make a solid beat for the solid rap, not to mention the powerful visuals and effects of the music video that brings the song to another level altogether. The chorus between the raps by Sik-K acts like a breather for the listeners.
Another fact that stood out the most and differed from the other Epik High music videos was the dance group with their face covered in white bandages. Their dance immediately makes one want to match their steps and groove to the dark yet exciting beats.
‘FACE ID’ is a part of the group’s upcoming 10th full-length album ‘EPIK HIGH IS HERE PART 2’ which will be released next year. Before the release, the group has announced the locations and dates for their concert tour in North America and Seoul.
