Eight-member South Korean idol group, EPEX, is back with its 5th EP, Prelude of Love Chapter 2. Growing Pains, released on April 26, 2023.
The EP includes a total of 4 new tracks with ‘Sunshower(여우가 시집가는 날)’ serving as the title track. With a catchy up-tempo, the Pop-Dance title track lays down solid beats that instantly hooks the listeners along with the addition of fresh brass sound and guitar beats that add to the energetic vocals of the EPEX members.
‘Sunshower’ takes the listeners closer to the story of a boy going through a painful breakup for the very first time as the lyrics speak of his regrets, feelings, and intention to make things right. The sequence of tracks within the EP leads the listener through the various stages of love which begins with ‘My Darling’, ‘Sunshower ’, ‘Goodbye, My First Love ’, and ends with ‘Skyline.’ Together the entire EP is a symphony of love and hardships.
A continuation of their fable from their previous releases, BIPOLAR Pt. 2 Prelude of Love, Prelude of Love Chapter 1. Puppy Love together with Prelude of Love Chapter 2. Growing Pains is the introduction of love.
While speaking about the EP, BAEKSEUNG, member of EPEX states:
“It’s a comeback after six months since “Hymn to Love,” so I’m very nervous. I like the atmosphere of our title song, so I’m even more excited about the comeback. We hope that ZENITH will look forward to us as much as we prepared with love and hard work.”
EPEX, derived from Eight Apex, is an eight-member boy group under C9 Entertainment that strives to reach eight different apexes, forming a collective and powerful team. The group made their debut on June 8, 2021, with their first EP titled BIPOLAR Pt. 1: Prelude of Anxiety. With their successful debut, the group has accomplished numerous achievements. EPEX, standing up as the representative of the fourth generation of K-Pop idols, achieved No. 1 album sales among the K-Pop idols that made their debut in 2021. They were even chosen as a global super rookie in the ‘Hanteo Global K-Pop Report’ released by Hanteo Chart. The group consists of WISH, KEUM, MU, A-MIN, BAEKSEUNG, AYDEN, YEWANG, and JEFF.
While describing their future journey and their aspirations, WISH, leader of EPEX states:
“I’m happy and excited to show our fans our new concept and music. Even though it is the 4th comeback, our trembling and anticipating hearts have become clearer. We will make more comebacks with diverse concepts in the future, but as this moment will never return, we will do our best for this comeback.”
