After a yacht accident, she began seeing ghosts. Every night, the restless spirits of people who died unjustly visit her. To protect others from sharing her curse, she has lived in solitude for nearly a decade.
Ma Kang-wook (Yang Se-jong) is an ace prosecutor with a great physique, sharp intelligence, and a strong sense of justice. However, after charging a politician’s son with murder, he was demoted to the cold case unit. While investigating an abandoned body, he repeatedly encounters Yeo-ri in the woods, leading him to suspect her and eventually uncover her secret.
Their paths collide as they join forces to solve a series of paranormal cases. But for Kang-wook, who fears ghosts more than anything, partnering with a woman who can see them is a nightmare come true. As they navigate the chaos of restless spirits and mysterious cases, they gradually develop romantic feelings for each other.
The Characters
Cheon Yeo-ri (played by Park Eun-bin)

Heiress to a major national conglomerate and CEO of Reina Hotel, Cheon Yeo-ri began seeing ghosts after a yacht accident. Fearing that her curse could affect those around her, she chose to isolate herself from everyone. Park Eun-bin brings both vulnerability and strength to a woman whose life is haunted by the dead.
Ma Kang-wook (played by Yang Se-jong)

A prosecutor at the Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office who was demoted to the cold case unit. Yang Se-jong delivers a compelling performance as a man who fears ghosts but must face them to uncover the truth, only to fall for the woman who can see them.

A Deeper Look

At its core, ‘Spooky in Love’ explores isolation, connection, and the courage to let others in. Yeo-ri has spent years alone, believing her curse makes her a danger to those around her, while Kang-wook is haunted by fears of his own. Together, they learn that facing the darkness becomes easier when you have someone by your side.
The drama also explores justice and the unresolved stories of the dead. The spirits Yeo-ri sees are victims of unsolved crimes, and her partnership with Kang-wook helps bring closure to both the living and the dead. Ultimately, it is a reminder that some stories cannot end until the truth is revealed.
The Final Verdict
‘Spooky in Love’ is a perfect watch for those who love their rom-coms with a supernatural twist. Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong’s chemistry elevates the series, while the balance between horror and humour is handled beautifully. It’s spooky, sweet, and irresistibly charming. A heiress who sees the dead. A prosecutor who fears them. And a love story that’s truly to die for.
