On April 27, tvN’s romantic comedy drama ‘Second Shot at Love’ revealed a character relationship chart showcasing the connections between the residents of Bocheon Village.
‘Second Shot at Love’ centers around Han Geum Ju (played by Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung), a woman who proudly considers herself a ‘rational drinker’. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she reunites with her first love, Seo Ui Jun (played by Gong Myoung), a man who has a strong aversion to alcohol. Determined to make their relationship work, Geum Ju takes on the challenge of quitting drinking.
The poster also includes Choi Mi Yeon (played by Yeom Seung Yi), Han Geum Ju’s close friend and coworker; her ex-boyfriend, Kim Joo Yup (played by Yoo Eui Tae); and her boss, Kim Soo Seok (played by Jeon Jin Oh), all of whom bring additional layers of intrigue and complexity to Han Geum Ju’s personal relationships.
At the Bocheon Health Center, a cast of distinct characters adds to the charm of the village. Baek Hye Mi (played by Bae Hae Sun), once a head nurse at a top Seoul hospital, relocated to Bocheon to follow Seo Ui Jun, while Young Rong (played by Lee Tae Yul), a physical therapist, became a loyal supporter of Han Geum Ju after she helped him during his school years.
Meanwhile, the story of Bong Sun Ok (played by Kang Hyung Suk) and Lee Young Woong (played by Park Gang Sub), both of whom harbor unspoken feelings for Han Geum Ju and Bong Sun Ok’s older sisters respectively—Han Hyun Ju (played by Jo Yoon Hee) and Bong Sun Hwa (played by Kim Bo Jung)—is set to spark excitement and promises to tug at viewers’ hearts.
The village of Bocheon also thrives with lively personalities, including Ki Bum’s parents (Lee Joong Ok and Kim Hyun Sook), who run a popular charcoal-grilled ribs restaurant and frequently engage in playful spats with Han Jung Soo (played by Kim Sang Ho) and Kim Kwang Ok (played by Kim Sung Ryung). Meanwhile, Young Woong’s parents (Son Sang Gyu and Joo In Young) maintain a sense of calm by offering drinks, while local restaurant owners like the Chinese restaurant owner (Kim Jung Hyun) and fried chicken restaurant owner (Ha Eun Sum) contribute to the bustling village energy.
The drama also features a talented ensemble of young child actors. Han Hyun Ju’s twin sons, Woo Ri (played by Park Do Jun) and Na Ra (played by Lee Shi Jun), are set to infuse the screen with youthful energy, while Lee Young Woong’s daughter, Hwa Young (played by Kim Min Chae), will capture hearts as the village’s endearing cutie, bringing a sense of warmth and joy to the community.
As per the production team, “The people of Bocheon Village are living, breathing elements that create the story’s flow together. As each character’s story develops, viewers will experience even greater warmth and empathy.”
‘Second Shot at Love’ is set to premiere on May 12 at 8:50 p.m. KST (5:20 p.m. IST).
