‘Signal’ is returning with a brand new season!
On March 5 KST, tvN surprised fans with an official announcement: “‘Signal,’ a drama which received great love, will be returning with ‘The Second Signal’ (literal translation). Production has begun with the goal of airing in the first half of next year.”

‘The Second Signal’ will bring back the original cast, including Kim Hye Soo as Cha Soo Hyun, Cho Jin Woong as Lee Jae Han, and Lee Je Hoon as Park Hae Young. Fans are thrilled to see the return of script writer Kim Eun Hee, who penned the first season, while director Ahn Tae Jin, known for the film ‘The Night Owl,’ will take charge of directing the sequel.
Originally aired in 2016, ‘Signal’ centers on a mysterious walkie-talkie that links two detectives from different time periods. Together, they work to solve and prevent crimes in their respective eras. The hit drama gained critical acclaim, with its finale reaching a 13.4% viewership. Season 1’s cliffhanger hinted at Detective Lee Jae Han’s survival, fueling anticipation for Season 2
Additionally, the production crew stated, “In order to repay the warm love for Season 1, we are preparing for Season 2 with even greater depth and immersion. Please show lots of interest for ‘The Second Signal.’”
With the original series making such a lasting impression, anticipation continues to grow for ‘The Second Signal’, as fans eagerly await what new twists and developments the next installment will bring.
