EVNNE Embraces The Free-Spirited Chaos With Their Fiery Mini-Album ‘HOT MESS’

EVNNE drops their latest mini-album ‘HOT MESS’.

On February 10, K-pop group EVNEE released their fourth mini-album, ‘HOT MESS,’ along with the MV of the title track. A group known for their sharp choreographies and well-structured performances, EVNNE takes a different approach to their latest comeback. With the title track, ‘HOT MESS,’ the group embraces a more laid-back, free-spirited style in their music and choreography, aiming to show their ability to savor and enjoy all situations and experiences, including the messy ones.

The album carries an overarching theme of embracing chaos and finding joy in the unpredictable. Its bright and energetic concept plays with two main visual motifs: “Sowing” and “Splatter.” The main “Splatter” concept represents the members boldly enjoying themselves in a dynamic, colorful space, while the sub-concept, “Sowing” showcases a more tranquil side of EVNNE, set in a garden-like environment—symbolizing patience, resilience, and personal growth amidst life’s uncertainties.

‘HOT MESS’ includes six new songs—the title track ‘HOT MESS,’ ‘Birthday,’ ‘Love Like That,’ ‘CROWN,’ ‘Youth,’ and a Korean version of their previously released single ‘景色 (KESHIKI).’

The title track, ‘HOT MESS,’ is a vibrant pop-rock track that encapsulates the idea of living in the present rather than getting caught up in turbulent emotions and the what-ifs in life. The music video further showcases the vibrant, chaotic themes of the song. EVNNE members YOO SEUNGEON and PARK JIHOO both participated in writing the lyrics, adding a personal touch to the song’s message.

‘Love Like That’ captures the charms of EVNNE as a group, with lyrics written by member JI YUNSEO. With lyrics by SEUNGEON, ‘Youth’ combines a rock-based guitar and Wobble Synth to create a surge of emotions. The song and its lyrics embody the essence of youth—where struggles and setbacks are part of the journey to achieving dreams. ‘景色 (KESHIKI),’ originally released as a Japanese digital single in November 2024, is an highlight of the album. Composed and written by the group’s leader KEITA, the latest album sees a Korean version of the song.

With ‘HOT MESS’ out, fans can now look forward to EVNNE’s two-day concert ‘SET N GO’ on April 5 and 6 which will be held at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul, South Korea.

EVNNE is a seven-member South Korean boy group managed by Jellyfish Entertainment that debuted in September 2023. The members include KEITA, PARK HANBIN, LEE JEONGHYEON, YOO SEUNGEON, JI YUNSEO, MUN JUNGHYUN, and PARK JIHOO. The group name EVNNE, which stands for “Evening’s Newest Étoiles,” holds the members’ wishes to shine higher and brighter than anybody else and to have all eyes on them.
