On the occasion of 50 years of diplomatic ties between India and Korea, the ‘Crazy for K-Culture’ Concert took place at JLN Stadium on August 25. The event was a harmonious blend of music and dance, showcasing the shared spirit of friendship between the two nations.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr Yu Byung Chae, Deputy Minister of Cultural & Arts Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Art, and Tourism. In his address, he extended congratulations to India for the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission and delved into the historical threads that have woven the two nations together for over two millennia.
Among the distinguished attendees were the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, H.E. Chang Jae-bok, who also extended congratulations to India for Chandrayaan-3 success, and Mr Hwang Il Yong, Director of Korean Cultural Centre India, as a testament to the cultural exchange that fuels the relationship.
Representing the Indian government, Sh. Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, and Shri Sunil, Additional Director General of Global Outreach at Prasar Bharati graced the occasion, emphasizing the event’s significance in bolstering bilateral ties through cultural exchange.
The concert’s stage was a canvas of diversity, with performances that captivated the audience from start to finish. The opening act by the dynamic K-Pop Dance Cover group ‘Girl Crush’ set the tone with their captivating dance move on K-Pop songs.
Breaking away from convention, the Traditional Korean Dance Group ‘Heung’ took center stage, seamlessly merging traditional Korean dance elements with exhilarating breakdancing moves. They enhanced the beauty of their performance with the use of ribbons in their choreography.
In a surprising turn of the evening, Bollywood’s melodious sensation Neeti Mohan took the stage with her superhit tracks such as ‘Jiye Re’, ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’ and more, which even left officials grooving with the audience. She surprised the audience with a soulful rendition of the Iconic K-Drama OST ‘Stay with Me‘ from ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ aka ‘Goblin.’ Her performance transcended linguistic confines, resonating deeply with both Bollywood and K-drama enthusiasts, and encapsulating the essence of harmony.

After the mesmerizing performance, K-Pop boy group ‘MUSTB’ took the stage by storm with their exhilarating dance and melodies starting from their latest comeback ‘RUSH.’ Their performance highlighted the universal appeal of music, transcending language barriers and their unconditional love for India. The group had earlier performed in India at the Hornbill Festival in 2019. A standout moment was MUSTB’s dance moves on the Indian song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the movie ‘RRR.’ This cross-cultural fusion showcased the harmony between Indian and Korean cultures and added a uniqueness to the event.

The event concluded with a heartwarming finale. All performers, along with dignitaries from both countries, graced the stage under the flags of India and Korea. Dancing together, they symbolized the harmonious journey of India and Korea.
