Accompanied by a moving music video for the title track, the much-awaited last instalment for the ‘OK’ series is finally out!
On May 29, EST, CIX unveiled their latest EP titled ‘OK’ Episode 2: I’m OK,’ marking the conclusion of their ‘OK’ series, after their impressive performances at the We Bridge Festival in Las Vegas. Additionally, their Save Me, Kill Me global tour earlier this year was a resounding success, further solidifying their popularity. The quintet’s first part of the ‘OK’ series commenced with their first studio album, ‘OK’ Prologue: Be OK,’ in 2021. The second piece of the series was released in August 2022 titled ‘OK’ Episode 1: OK Not.’
The three-part series deeply explores the concept of youth, highlighting this phase as a period that balances both beauty and potential tragedy. In particular, ‘OK’ Episode 2: I’m OK centres around the theme of self-discovery through wandering, narrating a journey of finding one’s true identity and embracing individuality. The EP expresses the idea that through wandering, one can discover their own unique essence and personal colour.
The new release consists of the following tracks: ‘Back to ‘Life,’ ‘Curtain Call,’ ‘Color,’ and the title track ‘Save Me, Kill Me,’ named after their recent world tour. The main track showcases a futuristic bass-style sound with a moderate tempo and expresses a bittersweet love that emerges as a beacon of light amidst the darkness felt but stems from a place of anguish present in the heart. It further expresses the experience of facing a period of intense pain that feels indistinguishable from a personal hell.
“We think this album is different from the albums we released before, and it feels like something overwhelming. Therefore, that’s why the song style is also like that, and we’re looking forward to this promotion because it seems like it will be a promotion where we can grow while showing ourselves in various ways. We hope many people will listen to our album. Please give lots of love to our new title song, “Save Me, Kill Me.”
