Super Junior’s Sungmin to wrap up the year by starring in a heartwarming musical ‘Around 30’ (literal
translation).
Sungmin will play the main character ‘Lee Hyun Sik’, and it will take place from 28th December, 2018 to 6th January, 2019 at Tokyo’s TBS Akasaka ACT Theater. He will be playing a double role, including “Hyun Sik”, a middle -aged man who is tired of his repetitive daily life, and “young Hyun Sik”, who returns to the glorious youth of 30s after having a special drink.
This musical is named after late singer-songwriter Kim Kwang Seok‘s representative hit song ‘서른 즈음에’ (Around 30). It also features the following songs – Kim Kwang Seok’s ‘Around 30’, Sung Si Kyung‘s ‘First Time‘ and Zion.T‘s ‘Zero Gravity‘, etc. all of which are composed by hit singer-songwriter and musician Kang Seung Won. With emotional songs and stories, it’s a concert-type musical and is expected to receive positive reactions from the audience.
Sungmin debuted as a musical actor in 2009 with ‘Akilla’ and has also starred in other musicals like ‘Boys Over Flowers’, ‘Jack The Ripper’, ‘The Three Musketeers’ and more, showing off his talent as a muscial actor.
