BTS‘ Jeon Jungkook has dropped another video from his Golden Closet Films series,
this time giving us a sneak peek at the rehearsals for their epic Melon Music Awards 2018 performance.
The video is titled “G.C.F 3J @2018 MMA Practice” and is shot in black and white. With the heavy hip hop beats of Alex Lustig‘s “No Pressure” as background music, the video cuts around the practice of BTS’ “IDOL” performance. Specifically the introduction to the track performed by members J-Hope, Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook.
In the video, J-Hope can be seen incorporating some traditional Korean movements into his powerful dance moves. The elegant style of dance performed by Jimin is the fan dance called ‘Buchaechum‘ (부채춤), while the captivating mask dance performed by Jungkook is called ‘Talchum‘ (탈춤).
The performance at the Melon Music Awards is garnering much praise for imbibing Korea’s rich culture into the performance with Korean fans even going so far as to say that the performance stirred up patriotic feelings in them. International fans have also described their awe at the epic performance.
With rumours alleging that BTS’ performance at the upcoming Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs) will be even better, one can only wonder how they plan to upstage their Melon Music Awards performance.
