What are your plans for this summer? As for K-Drama lovers, nothing is better than binge-watching your favorite actors on screen, right? Here is the list of K-Dramas you can look forward to in June:
1. EVE
EVE premiered on June 1, 2022 and has 16 episodes. The drama airs every Wednesday and Thursday.
Cast: Seo Yea-Ji, Park Byung-Eun, Yoo Sun, and Lee Sang-Yeop
Lee La-El (Seo Yea-Ji) had a loving family with doting parents but her world crumbles down after her father’s death. She vows to take revenge on those rich people who broke her family and seek a plan for 13 years. Her main target is Kang Yoon-Gyeom (Park Byung-Eun), CEO of the LY Group.
Seo Eun-Pyeong (Lee Sang-Yeop) is an orphan who witnessed the tragedy of Lee La-el and her family and wants to help. He now holds power as the youngest member of the National Assembly.
2. Why Her?
The drama will air on SBS from 3rd June 2022 to 23rd July 2022, every Friday and Saturday. It is slated to have 16 episodes and is also available on Viu and Viki.
Cast: Seo Hyun Jin and Hwang In-Yeop
Why Her? is a mystery and melodrama that revolves around a law student and a professor at a Law University. Oh Soo Jae (Seo Hyun Jin) is a talented lawyer and the youngest partner at TK Law Firm. She is a driven and cold-hearted lawyer. When Soo Jae gets involved in an unexpected case, she gets demoted as a professor at Seojung Law University. There she meets Gong Chan (Hwang In-yeop). He has a painful past but still has a warm heart. He falls in love with his professor Oh Soo Jae and would do anything to protect her.
3. Cleaning Up
Cleaning Up is slated to have 16 episodes and will air from 4th June 2022 to 24th July 2022.
Cast: Yum Jung Ah, Jeon So Min, and Kim Jae Hwa
The drama revolves around three cleaners at a financial company. One day three cleaners, Eo Yong Mi (Yeom Jung Ah), Ahn In Kyung (Jeon So Min), and Maeng Soo Ja (Kim Jae Hwa), accidentally overhear a piece of financial information and they resort to insider trading to feed their family and fulfill their dreams.
4. Link: Love, Eat, Kill
Link: Love, Eat, Kill, is a 16 episode K-Drama and will air from 6th June 2022 to 26th July 2022, every Monday and Tuesday.
Cast: Yeo Jin Goo and Moon Ga Young
The drama tells a story about Eun Gye Hoon (Yeo Jin Goo) and Noh Da Hyun (Moon Ga Young). Eun Gye Hoon works as a chef and decides to open a restaurant at the place where his twin sister went missing 20 years ago. One day, he meets Noh Da Hyun, with whom he shares emotions like joy, sorrow, and pain. Noh Da Hyun is a woman who is never lucky, especially when it comes to men in her life.
5. Insider
The drama premiered on 8th June 2022 and will air until 28th July 2022, every Wednesday and Thursday. It is slated to have 16 episodes.
Cast: Kang Ha Neul and Lee Yoo Young
Insider is an action, suspense, and thriller drama. The story is about Kim Yo-han (Kang Ha Neul), who works as a judicial apprentice and always moves ahead of others. He is deliberate in his actions and holds a poker face. He gets involved in an unexpected case when he conducts an insider investigation. It leads him to prison, and he struggles to get back to a normal life.
6. Yumi’s Cells 2
Yumi’s Cells 2 will air from 10th June 2022 to 22nd July 2022 and is slated to have 14 episodes, releasing 2 episodes every Friday.
Cast: Kim Go-Eun and Park Jin-Young
The new season will depict the story of Yumi’s love and dream. Yumi matured through her relationship and break-up with Goo Woong. Now, she is ready to take up a new challenge. Yumi takes the courage to start a new relationship with her co-worker Yoo Babi.
7. Jinxed At First
The drama is scheduled to air from 15th June 2022 to 4th August 2022 on Viki and has 16 episodes.
Cast: Na In-Woo and Seo Hyun
The drama revolves around a man, Gong Soo Kwang (Na In-Woo). He has an unlucky fate due to which people tend to avoid him. He wasn’t always like this, but after meeting Lee Seul Bi (Seo Hyun), his life changed. Whenever he dreams of Lee Seul Bi, something bad happens to him. But it is about to change when he meets her again after seven years.
Lee Seul Bi is a goddess, who has a special ability to see others’ futures whenever she touches somebody. She got this ability from her mother. They are both captivated by the CEO, who uses them for their special ability. Lee Seul Bi escapes with the help of her mother. There she meets Gong Soo Kwang for the first time after seven years.
8. Alchemy of Souls
Alchemy of Souls is scheduled to air from 18th June 2022 to 21st August 2022. The drama is slated to have 20 episodes. It is also available on Netflix in selected regions.
Cast: Lee Jae-Wook, Jung So-Min, Hwang Min-Hyun and Shin Seung-Ho
Jang Wook (Lee Jae-Wook) comes from a noble family but has an unpleasant birth secret and is a troublemaker. He meets Mu Deok-So (Jung So-Min), an elite warrior whose soul is trapped in a physically weak body. She becomes Jang Wook’s servant and secretly starts to teach him how to fight.
9. Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area
The drama was released on Netflix on June 24, 2022. It has 12 episodes but only 6 have been released so far.
Cast: Yoo Ji-Tae, Kim Yun-Jin, Park Hae-Soo, and Jeon Jong-Seo
Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area is a remake of a Spanish TV drama. It follows the storyline and characters of the original series. Professor (Yoo Ji-Tae) is a strategist criminal mastermind that plans to pull off a heist on Korean Peninsula. The operation involves strategies with different characteristics and abilities.
10. Minamdang
Minamdang is scheduled to air from 27th June 2022 to 23rd August 2022. The drama has 18 episodes.
Cast: Seo In-Guk, Oh Yeon-Seo, Kwak Shi-Yang and Kang Mina
Nam Han-Joon (Seo In-Guk) is a former criminal profiler. He disguises himself as a fortune teller and runs a fortune teller shop Minamdang. He attracts his customers through his appearance and good talking skills and scams them for money. But he helps his customers and solves their problems.
Han Jae-Hee (Oh Yeon-Seo) has been a dedicated detective for three years. She loves her job and tries to follow the righteous path. Somehow she and Nam Han-Joon cross paths and get herself involved with him.
11. The Witch is Alive
The Witch is Alive premiered on 25th June 2022. The drama will air every Saturday and Sunday. It is slated to have 12 episodes.
Cast: Lee Yoo-Ri, Lee Min-Young, and Yoon So-yi
The Witch is Alive is a story of three friends who comes from different background and encounter enemies they would like to kill.
Gong Ma-Ri (Lee Yoo-Ri) is a housewife who lives with her daughter and husband. When she learns about her husband’s affair, she seeks a way to end her marriage.
Chae Hee-Soo (Lee Min-Young) is a daughter-in-law of a rich chaebol but her marriage is rocky. She has to take care of her mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer’s and endure her husband’s indifference towards her. She is also unable to get pregnant. One day, her mother-in-law gives her a tempting offer.
Yang Ji-Ah’s (Yoon So-yi) husband is not a good person. After his death, she gets a large sum of money from his insurance policy. She can live a good life now. However, she suffers from anxiety as she fears the money will be taken away by someone.
12. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
The drama premiered on June 29, 2022, and airs every Wednesday and Thursday. It is slated to have 16 episodes and is available for streaming on Netflix.
Cast: Park Eun-Bin, Kang Tae-Oh, and Kang Ki-Young
The drama is about a 27 year old lawyer Woo Young Woo (Park Eun-Bin), who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She has a high IQ of 164, impressive memory, and a creative thought process. However, despite her intelligence, she lacks social skills. As a result, she becomes a target of prejudice.
