Zico Officially Discharged From His Mandatory Military Service

On 29^th April 2022, Zico, a South Korean Rapper and leader of Block B has officially been discharged from his mandatory military service. His much awaited collab ‘Celeb’ with PSY released on the same day of his discharged. Zico, contributed in writing and composing the song. It is his second time working with PSY following ‘I Luv It’. ‘Celeb’ is a part of PSY’s new album ‘PSY 9th’ featuring Bae Suzy (Miss A). The song was first premiered in July 2019 at PSY concert.

Zico enlisted on July 2020 and spent 4 weeks at primary army coaching and carried out the reminder of his service as a public service worker.

On July 1 2020, prior to his enlistment, he released his third EP ‘RANDOM BOX’, with its title track ‘Summer Hate’ featuring Rain. The album was a gift to his fans.

Before his enlistment he dropped his hit song ‘Any Song’, which went viral on Tik Tok. It started to trend on Tik Tok with the hashtag ‘Any Song Challenge’ and took over Instagram as well.  ‘Any Song’ was a commercial success in South Korea, debuting at number one on Gaon Digital Chart and also gained success across the world, claiming spots in various charts.

While at military, Zico’s song ‘Okey-Dokey’ featuring Mino from Winner also went viral after the song was played in K-Drama ‘True Beauty.’

He is also among notable South Korean rappers and best known for his crossover in Korean hip-hop scene, maintaining both as an underground rapper and Korean Idol.

Zico’s label KOZ Entertainment was acquired by HYBE label and became a subsidiary of the multi-label cooperation in November 2020.
