The Shark universe is evolving once again with the upcoming six-part series ‘Shark: The Storm,’ and fans have every reason to be excited. A follow-up to 2021’s ‘Shark: The Beginning,’ which marked TVING’s first original film, the new installment brings back familiar faces, deeper emotions, and even deadlier battles.
Kim Min Seok returns as Cha Woo Sol, a former inmate trying to turn his life around as a professional mixed martial artist. But just as he starts carving out a future, a new threat surfaces in the form of Hyun Woo Yong (played by Lee Hyun Wook), throwing Woo Sol into a fight that goes beyond survival; it’s now about protecting the people he loves.
And just when things begin to spiral, a familiar figure reappears.
Wi Ha Joon reprises his role as Jeong Do Hyun, the former MMA champion whose tough-love mentorship once helped shape Woo Sol’s strength and resolve. In ‘Shark: The Beginning,’ their bond was forged behind prison walls, raw, intense, and unforgettable. Now, years later, the two meet again, this time separated by the glass of a prison visitation room. Their eyes hold stories unspoken. Smiles are exchanged, but they’re brief.
In newly released stills, the duality of their relationship is clear, trust built on pain, and a connection deeper than words. But something has changed in Jeong Do Hyun. His once calm demeanor now carries a colder edge. As he leaves Woo Sol with cryptic advice, viewers are left wondering: what secrets does he hold, and what role will he play in this storm?
With Wi Ha Joon’s special appearance set to stir up old emotions and new revelations, ‘Shark: The Storm’ promises both a gripping plot and an emotional reunion that fans won’t want to miss.
The countdown begins. ‘Shark: The Storm’ premieres on May 15.
