TWICE’s SANA is preparing to make her debut in acting!
On July 8, a Korean media outlet reported that SANA has been cast in the upcoming film ‘Nyangi’ (literal title). Later, her agency, JYP Entertainment officially confirmed the news, stating, “Sana will star as a lead in the film ‘Nyangi’”.
The upcoming project is a Korea-Japan collaboration that will feature Japanese actor Satoh Takeru as the male lead role. The project reunites SANA and Satoh, who previously worked together when the actor appeared in the highlight medley video for ‘PLAY’, the debut album by MISAMO—TWICE’s Japanese subunit consisting of MINA, SANA and MOMO—earlier this year.
The film marks a new chapter in SANA’s career, as it will be her first acting project in her 11-year career as an artist.
According to the report, filming is set to begin in Japan during the second half of this year. The production will be led entirely by a Korean crew, making ‘Nyangi’ a unique collaboration between the Korean and Japanese entertainment industries.
How excited are you to see SANA take on her first acting role in ‘Nyangi’?
