Jimin also made a significant impact, winning the prestigious Fans’ Choice of the Year award and earning a place in the Fans’ Choice Top 10 (male). IU, affectionately known as the Nation’s Sweetheart, won Best Female Artist and earned a spot in the Fans’ Choice Top 10 (female). Her soulful performances and heartfelt lyrics have continued to resonate with fans. IU’s acceptance speech was a heartfelt expression of gratitude to her loyal fanbase, UAENAs, who have supported her throughout her illustrious career.
Jennie of BLACKPINK showcased her versatility by winning four awards. Her solo performance of ‘You & Me’ earned her Best Dance Performance (Female Solo), while her collaboration with Zico on ‘SPOT!’ brought home Best Collaboration and two additional awards. Jennie’s ability to seamlessly transition between solo and collaborative projects was a highlight of the night.
A truly groundbreaking moment came when Rosé and Bruno Mars were awarded Global Sensation for their viral collaboration ‘APT.’. This win marked Bruno Mars’ first-ever MAMA award and underscored the global influence of K-Pop. The MAMA Awards also shone a spotlight on emerging artists, celebrating the next generation of stars. TWS and ILLIT were recognized as Best New Male Artist and Best New Female Artist, respectively. MEOVV won Favourite Rising Artist, and ME:I was named Favourite New Asian Artist. These wins highlighted the promising future of K-Pop, with new talents ready to make their mark on the global stage.
Several other artists made waves with their wins. G-Dragon was honored with the Music Visionary of the Year award for his innovative contributions to music.
