Idols never fail to impress, especially when on stage. Their performances are full of energy and always on fire. Some collaborations between artists are a much easier and a more fun way to discover new songs or artists for our playlist.
Another amazing and comfortable thing about collaboration performances is that different fandoms join hands to watch their idols perform and promote their friendship. These performances just make our hearts happy and energized, and will probably have us dancing the whole day, even in the bathroom!
Among the many cool performances by idols, here are a few handpicked ones that just should not be missed.
Bang Chan and Hyunjin – Compulsion
*I Cannot Breathe*
Stray Kids’ leader Bang Chan and lead dancer Hyunjin released ‘Compulsion’ as a part of their recent comeback album ‘NO EASY.’ The performance video is currently my number and is on repeat! The ChaJin duo (Bang Chan, Hyunjin) literally have Stays weak in their knees. The song is super addictive with slow-burn beats, melting vocals, sultry choreography, and piercing looks!
Soobin and Arin – Dolphin
* Da Da Da Da Da, Da Da Da Da Da Da Da *
Originally a song by OH MY GIRL, ‘Dolphin’ was performed by Music Bank MCs Soobin (Tomorrow X Together) and Arin (OH MY GIRL) for a special stage. I totally loved their performance. They were so cute! The steps are pretty easy too, so with a little practice you will be able to dance along! There is a high possibility that you would have come across this song in Instagram reels and Tik-Toks, for this video went super viral.
Girl’s Day X Boy’s Day – Something
*Forever The Best!*
This collaboration happened over six years ago and still remains one of the bests. Originally a hit song by Girl’s Day, ‘Something’ was performed by Ren (NU’EST), Hongbin (former VIXX), Minhyuk (BTOB), and Seung Jin (former A-JAX) as Boy’s Day.
But here comes the spoiler! The surprise element in this performance is the cross-dressing! The performance initially starts off with Girl’s Day performing and then suddenly, Boy’s Day take the centre stage. There are many YouTube reaction videos on this performance. If you have some free time do check them out. They are super funny!
*Okay I’m just gonna say it. REN nailed his outfit *
Try showing this video to your friends and see if they realize it! XD
GOT7, BTOB, Monsta X – Bad Girl, Good Girl
*You Don’t Know Me!*
Girl group Miss A is the original artist for the song ‘Bad Girl, Good Girl,’ and this song was covered by – BamBam (GOT7), Youngjae (B.A.P), Minhyuk (BTOB), and Minhyuk (Monsta X).
This is a cute cover where the boys are dressed up and looking fabulous in full black outfits. The performance is a must-watch because of the cute attitude and the level of professionalism with which they perform the hit song.
Don’t forget to notice Minhyuk’s (Monsta X) cute hairband!
Red Velvet, Lovelyz, GOT7, WINNER – Moves Like Jagger
*I’m Already Dancing*
Any Maroon 5 fans here?!
Maroon 5 is an American pop-rock band and the creators of ‘Moves Like Jagger,’ an upbeat song, which felt even more upbeat while watching groups such as Red Velvet (Yeri joined the group in 2015 and hence she was not a part of this collaboration, as it happened in 2014), Lovelyz, Winner, and GOT7 perform.
An upbeat dance is mandatory for a song like this, and these artists put on a great show!
Watch out for ‘Wendy and Taehyun’ & ‘Seulgi and Jackson Wang’s moments!
The “97 Line” – I’m A Flying Butterfly
*I’m Not Crying, You Are!*
In 2017, K-Pop idols who had reached the age for the adult ceremony (20 years) performed the song “I’m a Flying Butterfly” that was originally sung by Korean rock band YB. The idols who performed were – Jungkook (BTS), Yuju and Eunha (GFriend), Jung Chaeyeon (I.O.I), Jihyo (Twice), Yugyeom and BamBam (GOT7), Mingyu, Dokyeom, and The8 (Seventeen). Seungkwan, Jeonghan, Joshua, and Woozi (SEVENTEEN) accompanied them with the instrumentals.
It is a nice, breezy, and happy stage show where the idols say goodbye to their teen and hello to their twenties. A nice farewell to their younger selves as they are entering a new chapter of their life. We wonder how often they look back and think “damn, we made it!”
Taeyong and Seulgi – JUST + AROUND(Hitchhiker Remix Ver.)
*Catch Me Before I fa-…Ouch*
I still remember how this video was part of my everyday routine a year back. Leader Taeyong from NCT and Seulgi from Red Velvet just killed this dance! It was a hot and powerful dance with the perfect amount of chemistry between the idols. I love their team and I’m a huge shipper with massive respect for their friendship.
ASTRO, LABOUM, NCT Dream, OH MY GIRL and UP10TION – Baby
*FAAAN FOOOD*
Beliebers, you guys are going to love this performance! ‘Baby’ is one of Justin Bieber’s 2010 hit songs that brought him fame worldwide when he was just a 16-year-old boy!
47 K-Pop artists brightened up the stage by bringing ‘Baby’ back in 2016, at the KBS Song Festival. There is so much happening on the stage, you are probably going to watch this a few times to be able to able to cover all of them!
OnlyOneOf – libidO
*I’m Okay…..*
Boy group OnlyOneOf’s very out there track is ‘libidO.’ From the very name of the track you might have an idea about the song’s meaning, and the picture gives away a lot too. This song received a lot of controversies but the members expected this and went for it anyway. I love this song not just for its music but for the group’s intention of wanting to break stereotypes. The choreography and the MV show their openness in regard to same-sex relationships and show support to the LGBTQ+ community.
On a personal note, I prefer their performance videos more than the MV. So check out their performances.
Jessi and Jackson Wang – NUNU NANA
*Geuraeseo Nan Nunnunanna!*
If you haven’t heard this song before, then you truly have been living under a rock! Jessi is one of the K-Pop industry’s gifts as she is known popularly for speaking her heart out and breaking stereotypes. ‘NUNU NANA‘ is one of her most popular tracks that went viral on a number of SNS platforms. This performance with GOT7’s Jackson Wang is just what Jebbies and Ahgases needed!
