SM Entertainment commemorated the first anniversary
of SHINee member Jonghyun‘s passing with a tribute video and a memorial event.
The tribute video, a collage of memories of Jonghyun was shared via SMTOWN and SHINee‘s official social media. The video was posted without a caption but ends with on-screen text that reads – “Jonghyun. We remember you. We will love you forever. From the SMTOWN family.”
The memorial event which included a memorial service and an art festival organized by the Shiny Foundation was held at the SMTOWN Theater at the Coex Artium in Seoul, on 17th December.

SMTOWN artists have also taken to social media to show that Jonghyun is remembered and loved. SHINee member Key took to his Instagram with an uncaptioned post of a video of himself and Jonghyun on stage at what appears to be a rehearsal while Girls‘ Generation member Taeyeon posted a picture of Jonghyun captioned – “By my side. I love you.”

The beloved artist’s passing on 18th December 2017 shook the K-Pop world to it’s core and fans have taken to commenting on pictures that Jonghyun had uploaded on his Instagram account (@jonghyun.948) which remains public. His last post has garnered over 800,000 comments from fans mourning his passing.
