SEVENTEEN’s JOSHUA is set to speak at a special event at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris!
On June 16, PLEDIS Entertainment officially announced that JOSHUA will attend the ceremony, ‘UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together,’ as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Youth. The ceremony will be held on June 25 (local time) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris in France and will also be attended by UNESCO Director General Khaled El-Enany.
During the event, JOSHUA will represent SEVENTEEN, and address attendees by sharing a message of encouragement for young people around the world. The ceremony will celebrate the achievements of ‘Going Together – For Youth Creativity & Well Being’, a global youth support program jointly promoted by SEVENTEEN and UNESCO.
In 2024, SEVENTEEN contributed $1 million to establish the Global Youth Grant Scheme, helping fund projects centered on music, art, sports and mental health. The program aims to support young people by fostering confidence, resilience and well-being through creative and community-based projects.
The group also donated additional proceeds from the ‘JOOPITER presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN’ charity auction held for the International Youth Day last year, helping provide intensive support to10 outstanding youth teams selected from 100 groups participating in ‘Going Together – For Youth Creativity and Well-Being Together.’
In November 2023, SEVENTEEN attended the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum and became the first K-pop artist to host a special session, and in June the following year they were named UNESCO’s first-ever Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth.
