SBS announced it’s plan for their Friday-Saturday time slot, where they usually air an episode of a drama. The second season of the smashing-hit drama, “The Penthouse,” aired on Fridays and Saturdays at 10PM KST and it was recently confirmed that the drama will have a third season, but this time the drama will only air once a week, on Fridays. Instead of airing an episode of the “The Penthouse 3,” SBS has decided to pair up the drama with their new audition show “LOUD.” Following the premiere of season 3, on June 4, LOUD will begin from June 5 and has been given the Saturday time slot.
The audition show is an ambitious project that features the founders of JYP Entertainment (founded by Park Jin Young) and P Nation (founded by PSY), where they will be seen creating two new boy groups that will debut under their respective agencies. Apart from the participants’ signing and dancing skills, the show further aims to shed it’s focus on their artistic skills in various other fields like songwriting, musical instruments, fine arts, and more. The final lineups selected by the two agencies will debut in the latter half of 2021, as members of a global boy group.
A source from the network said, “The fact that we have scheduled ‘LOUD’ as the partner of SBS’s trademark content ‘The Penthouse 3,’ which is already highly anticipated following the popularity of Seasons 1 and 2, indicates how high our anticipation is for this new program. ‘LOUD’ will take charge of our prime time slot on Saturdays as 2021’s most killer variety TV content.” Do you like survival shows?
