The critically acclaimed and wildly popular K-drama ‘Reborn Rich’, which captivated audiences with its gripping storyline and powerful performances, is officially returning for a second season.
On May 8, Artist Group, comprising Artist Company and its production subsidiary Artist Studio, announced the launch of ‘Reborn Rich Season 2’ as their first major collaborative project. The two affiliates, founded and led by prominent actors Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung, are steering the series in a bold new direction, expanding beyond Korea’s corporate drama into a global narrative.
In 2024, Artist Studio acquired RaemongRaein, the production company behind Season 1, solidifying its commitment to producing high-quality intellectual property. With this acquisition, Artist Group is moving beyond talent management and expanding into IP creation to establish itself as a powerhouse in drama production.
A spokesperson from Artist Company stated, “This project is strategically designed for the global market. From the early planning stages, we’ve been crafting a story and characters with international audiences in mind.”
Season 1 of ‘Reborn Rich’ starred Song Joong Ki as Yoon Hyun Woo, a loyal secretary betrayed and killed by the chaebol family he served. He was then reincarnated as Jin Do Joon, the youngest heir of the same family. His gripping journey of revenge and corporate power struggles resonated with millions and contributed to the drama’s massive success.
Season 2, however, promises a dramatic shift. While Song Joong Ki’s return has not yet been confirmed, the production team hinted at a completely new cast and a significantly expanded universe. “We aim to create another legendary season with a fresh casting and a script that lives up to the scale of the expanded world,” an Artist Group representative commented.
According to Artist Studio, “Leveraging our expertise in IP-based production, we are dedicating our full efforts to ensure Season 2 surpasses the success of its predecessor.”
With global ambition at its core, ‘Reborn Rich Season 2’ is set to explore themes of success, power, and love on an international scale, ushering in a new era for the franchise and Korean drama as a whole.
