In the previous episode Nabi lost her self-control and the leads end up sharing a passionate kiss. But Nabi, upon realizing that she was swayed again, controls her emotions from getting the best of her and walks out. It’s about time she did this.
I would have lost it if she kissed him back, even if the scene gave me butterflies.
“Nevertheless,” Review: Team Nabi or Team Gamja (Episode 7)
In terms of the main cast, episode 8 was pretty much okay. In all honesty, I haven’t been enjoying the drama as much as I enjoyed the first few episodes. It’s probably because I expected more than how things are going now for Nabi and Jae Eon. Not saying it’s utterly boring, but it really could have been better.
10 Reasons why Team NH is watching Nevertheless,
- Song Kang
- Han So Hee
- Yoon Sol and Ji Wan
- Bit Na and Gyu Hyun
- Cute moments with Do Hyeok
- Song Kang
- Song Kang
- Gyeong Jun and Min Young,
- The race between Jae Eon and Do Hyeok to win Nabi’s heart, and
- Song Kang
Nabi walks out hoping to reach her aunt’s place ASAP and cry a river for how pathetic she felt about herself. But Do Hyeok who is determined to confess to Nabi, especially after being aware of his competition, walks her home. Thought at first he didn’t notice how disturbed she felt, he eventually ends up realising it but at this point, it was a little too late as his surprise preparations were already made. If you can recollect episode 6, Do Hyeok tells Nabi that he has something to tell her and in a scene in episode 7, Do Hyeok was decorating a place with lights and balloons.
Nabi and Do Hyeok
Nabi was moved. I mean who wouldn’t be at this lovely gesture? She couldn’t hold in her emotions anymore and hot tears slowly started to trickle down her cheeks. As much as she felt pathetic about herself, she felt really sorry for Do Hyeok. She had spent a quality amount of time with him in the recent days and even knew how he felt about her, though it wasn’t spoken out. (Actions speak louder than words)
Do Hyeok is one of her favorite people in the world and the last thing she would want is to see him hurt, especially by her. Though we all know what happened, it still breaks my heart to say that she rejected him. She knew the timing was just messed up, and he knew that too.
But I’m glad that Do Hyeok did this for her. Her previous relationship was with a manipulative, toxic man. With Jae Eon she wanted more but, he isn’t able to give her a proper relationship, not yet. And with Nabi’s wavering feelings for him and her unstable mind, her self esteem is only pushed lower. This sweet gesture can remind her that she deserves better and things don’t have to be so melancholy for her.
Do Hyeok has always liked Nabi but never really got the right opportunity to do it. Well, the timing is still wrong for him, but this time he is not planning on backing down without a fair chance. He even told her that he is ready to be disappointed by her over and over again. UwU
He also openly flirts with her in the most adorable ways!
❤️TEAM GAMJA! WHERE Y’ALL AT?❤️
Do Hyeok and Jae Eon
Apart from being hurt, Do Hyeok is also pretty pissed at Jae Eon for hurting Nabi, or so he thinks. This even led to taking his frustration out on Jae Eon, not too harsh, but not very subtly either.
These weren’t exactly her words, though that’s what her tears probably means. So, Do Hyeok taking out his frustration on Jae Eon like this…I’m not very sure if that’s a great move. Jae Eon subtly asks him to mind his own business and walks in.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I don’t feel Jae Eon is completely at fault here. His intentions have been pretty clear with Nabi from the beginning. It’s Nabi who kept confusing herself. Now, Jae Eon is changing and is even being open about how much he missed her and so, she is even more confused as to what to do, and both haven’t really talked about things properly. And not to forget that Nabi is still under the impression that he has a girlfriend.
So basically, things are just messed up here and there.
Jae Eon and Nabi
Since the day Nabi went MIA, Jae Eon’s mind hasn’t been at peace. And with her now desperately trying to push him away, and with him starting to slowly realize his feelings for her, his attempts to win her attention have been unrelenting.
After his passive-aggressive conversation the previous night with Do Hyeok, Jae Eon tries to step up his game to reach out to Nabi. He visits her aunt’s place the next morning to “learn” pottery from her. Well he did learn that too, but we all know that wasn’t the real reason he went there.
“Are you saying it didn’t mean anything?”
Jae Eon asked her and she bluntly called it a ‘mistake.’ Sounds harsh but I guess that’s one way she can tell him that she doesn’t want his company anymore. I loved this scene, not because Nabi was blunt, but because of Song Kang’s amazing acting skills!
What I understand in this scene is that, Jae Eon after hearing what Nabi said should feel a sting in his heart but it must be seen very subtly seen in his expressions. Makes sense given the character he plays – ‘the not very into it’ type. Song Kang absolutely killed this shot. These tiny expressions usually go unnoticed, but not many realize that these expressions have an overall impact on the drama and speaks volume about the actor’s skills.
In the art academy, obviously Nabi cannot avoid him as he is also her assistant. They had previously planned on attending an art exhibition to check out an important piece, and she couldn’t say no. The exhibition was at the same venue her previous boyfriend invaded her privacy in the form of “art,” and that scarred her big time.
What Jae Eon says after the exhibition has me speechless…
FELL IN LOVE WHAT?
He is clearly talking about Nabi and did he just say “fell in love at first sight?”
I don’t really know what to think about this and I’m speaking in terms of Jae Eon. Nabi is still under the impression the he has a girlfriend, so whatever he says will just sound false to her. Was this Jae Eon’s confession to Nabi? Or did he not realize what he said? We can also see a few scenes were Jae Eon feels disturbed by Nabi’s thoughts. I will leave it at this, hoping there will be a follow up scene/ scenes for this in the upcoming episodes.
Gyeong Jun and Min Young
There was not much for them in this episode, but this scene was just cute!
Bit Na and Gyu Hyun
After the controversy Min Gwi faced, the production team stated that they will do their best to reduce his screen-time in the show. There wasn’t much for this couple either in this episode, but the show made it pretty obvious when it came to giving Min Gwi less screen time.
Bit Na tries to talk to Gyu Hyun about their relationship, but he made his decision. He feels they were closer as friends than being a couple, though they’ve only been going out for a short while. After their official break up, Bit Na hits the internet cafes and takes out her frustrating via computer games. But we don’t get to see Gyu Hyun after this. It is sad to see how the couple isn’t doing well at at moment, but Team NH is rooting for them and we are not going to give up on our hope.
Yoon Sol and Ji Wan
At first, Ji Wan was reluctant to accept that she remembered what she told Yoon Sol the previous night. And though Yoon Sol has tried to keep her feelings in check, she couldn’t help but let Ji Wan’s indirect confession affect her, giving her hope. That hope crushed when Ji Wan lied about not remembering it.
This hurt Yoon Sol and the only thing she could do was avoid Ji Wan until she felt better. Ji Wan tried to talk to Sol in order to make things okay between them, but Sol steps up and confesses her true feelings for Ji Wan. Watching Sol look so hurt, Ji Wan gathers the courage to go tell her that she remembers everything but doesn’t know how she feels about it, and walks away.
This scene was a mixture of cuteness, sadness, and warmth. The ship that we have been waiting for is slowly propelling! Ji Wan giving Sol a back hug was the serotonin I needed for the day.
Cannot wait to see them become a couple in the upcoming episodes!

Verdict
Nabi finds herself in the same place where she met Park Jae Eon and as she relives her memories, the most K-Drama thing happens. He calls here, and while she was contemplating on whether to answer it her not, she feels like someone was watching her and as she turns, she finds Jae Eon in the same spot as last time.
I’m not surprised to find Jae Eon there. He’s been going there often these days, especially after Nabi ghosted him. A lot of people have made it aware to him that Nabi really likes him, and from what I understand he’s starting to have real feelings for her. So probably seeing her there gave him hope, that maybe things don’t have to be bad between them? And maybe deep down he sees her as his girlfriend in the long run?
There is nothing much to say about this episode. It was okay. Jae Eon ending the episode with “Nabi bolleogallae?” gives hope that it is not yet over for Team Nabi. Can we expect Nabi to get back with Jae Eon? Will things be different this time, if they get back together? This is what we wait to see.
In other news, did you know that episode 8’s ratings dropped to its lowest? With just two more episodes to go, and with the hope for season 2, the show is making the audience curious as to how episode 10 will end! Share with us your thoughts!
