Min Hee-jin Steps Down as CEO of ADOR; Continues to Oversee NewJeans’ Production
On August 27, ADOR officially announced that Min Hee-jin would be stepping down from her position as CEO. Despite this change, she will continue to serve as an in-house executive and remain responsible for producing the group NewJeans.
In an official statement, ADOR revealed, “We held a board meeting today and appointed ADOR’s executive director, Kim Joo-young, as the new CEO.” Kim Joo-young, known for her expertise in human resources across various industries, is expected to focus on stabilizing and maintaining the internal structure of ADOR.
Regarding Min Hee-jin’s new role, the statement clarified, “She will step down as CEO, but will remain as an in-house executive. She will also continue to take charge of producing NewJeans.”
The company further explained that ADOR will now separate its production and management divisions, a multi-label operation principle that had been consistently applied to other labels within HYBE, but not to ADOR until now. This restructuring aims to enhance both production quality and organizational efficiency.
Additionally, ADOR emphasized its commitment to supporting the growth and continued success of NewJeans through these changes.
Min Hee-jin’s departure from the CEO position comes after a legal dispute with HYBE over management rights, though she will maintain a significant role within the company.
