LIM KIM Unveils Pre-Release Single ‘INSA’ Featuring Bree Runway

LIM KIM has unveiled her new single, ‘INSA’ featuring Bree Runway, marking the first preview of the upcoming album. Released alongside a visualizer filmed in Italy, the track combines sleek dance-pop production with introspective lyricism, offering listeners an emotionally charged introduction to her upcoming era.

Speaking about the collaboration, LIM KIM shared that she had been a fan of Bree Runway prior to creating the track and felt she was the ideal artistic partner both sonically and emotionally. While Bree’s background in dance music naturally aligned with the song’s energy, it was the deeper emotional core that ultimately connected them. ‘INSA’ explores the pressure of constantly performing confidence, glamour, and composure while concealing anxiety and insecurity underneath; an emotional contradiction Bree Runway immediately understood and embodied as a second narrator within the song’s perspective.

LIM KIM co-wrote the song’s lyrics, drawing inspiration from her own experiences in the entertainment industry. Reflecting on the emotional fatigue that can accompany life in the spotlight, she explores the disconnect between public expectations and private emotions. The title, ‘INSA,’ references the Korean phrase ‘insa haseyo’ (인사하세요), meaning ‘say hello’ or ‘greet properly.’ By centering the song around this everyday expression, LIM KIM examines the social rituals of politeness, hierarchy, and performance, revealing how carefully rehearsed interactions can often conceal genuine emotions.

The visualizer also marks the beginning of a connected video series, with each release representing a different chapter of LIM KIM’s life. Inspired by the overarching narrative of her upcoming project, the series follows her journey through uncertainty, contradiction, and emotional wandering before ultimately arriving at acceptance, clarity, and a stronger sense of self.

LIM KIM first rose to fame in 2011 as part of the duo Togeworl, reaching the Top 3 on ‘Superstar K3′. She made her solo debut with ‘A Voice’ in 2013, earning multiple Rookie of the Year awards before reinventing her artistic identity in 2019 with the release of ‘SAL-KI.’ Since then, she has continued to push creative boundaries through acclaimed projects such as ‘GENERASIAN,’ which earned two Korean Music Awards, while also contributing to popular drama soundtracks such as ‘Happiness Is Me’ from Reply 1994 and expanding her influence across music, fashion, and visual art.

LIM KIM’s new album, ‘Exit to Nowhere’ will be released on July 22.
