Lim Ji Yeon might be taking on a lead role in a new drama soon!
On June 17, media reports stated that actress Lim Ji Yeon has been cast to lead the upcoming SBS drama ‘Brave New World’ (literal title). The reports also mentioned that filming is expected to begin in the second half of the year, with its release planned for early next year.
In response, a representative from Artist Company, Lim Ji Yeon’s agency, stated, “Lim Ji Yeon has been offered a role in ‘Brave New World’ and is currently reviewing the offer.”
‘Brave New World’ is a fantasy romantic comedy directed by Han Tae Seop that follows the love-hate relationship between Shin Seo Ri, a notorious woman from the Joseon era, and Cha Se Gye, a cold-hearted modern-day chaebol. Lim Ji Yeon is in talks to take on the role of Seo Ri, an unknown actress who becomes possessed by the spirit of a villainous Joseon concubine once condemned to death. The role is expected to showcase her charm and range through a blend of comedy, drama, and emotional transformation.
Lim Ji Yeon made her acting debut in the 2011 film ‘Dear Catastrophe’ and has since earned acclaim for her roles in dramas like ‘The Glory’, ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden’, ‘The Tale of Lady Ok’, and more. She’s currently winning hearts on the variety show ‘Fresh Off the Sea 2’. Meanwhile, she is also set to appear in the romantic comedy ‘Annoying Love’ alongside Lee Jung Jae, scheduled for release later this year.
