‘The Red Sleeve Cuff’ (literal translation) is an upcoming Historical Drama and sources has it that 2PM’s, Junho and actress Lee Se Young are reportedly in talks to star for this drama.
JYP Entertainment, Junho’s agency elucidated that, “2PM’s Junho is positively reviewing the offer to star in MBC’s new drama ‘The Red Sleeve Cuff,’” while Lee Se Young’s agency Prain TPC also commented, “She is positively reviewing [the offer].”
If things work out and the roles are confirmed, then this will be Junho’s very first project since his discharge from the military and Lee Se Young’s first drama after Kairos which was released last year.
The drama is based on a novel with the same name and will be directed by Jung Ji In. Junho is in talks to play Yi San Jeongjo, a direct descent of the King and the next monarch, while Lee Se Young received the offer for the role of Ui, a royal nobel consort.
The plot revolves around Seong Clan’s royal nobel consort Ui, the mother of Crown Prince Mun Hyo. She reaches the highest rank among the women of internal court, who started as a court lady. Yo San Jeongjo is the oldest grandson of King Yeongjo, who strives hard to fulfil his expectations. Sadly, his trauma about his father’s death, Crown Prince Sado, has its effects on him.
The dates for the drama’s premiere has not been announced, but it is expected to drop in September after Park Ha Sun as well as Namgoong Min’s upcoming drama ‘Black Sun’ which is also the literal title.
