New K-Drama Alert!
According to an announcement made earlier today, Kim Sae Ron and Nam Da Reum have been confirmed to star for Kakao’s upcoming drama “Excellent Shaman Ga Doo Shim” (literal title). The new drama deals with romance and fantasy with the plot line moving around two high schooler, who after a turn of events, find themselves involved in various enigmatic incidents.
Sae Ron will take up the role of 18-year-old Ga Doo Shim, who was born with an undesired fate of becoming a shaman, even though all she wants to do is live her high school life like a normal teenager. Doo Shim is strong, brave, and battles evil spirits while working on cases.
Nam Da Reum will be cast as Na Woo Soo, a typical high schooler who comes from a rich family, has amazing looks, and of course out standing grades.
When Doo Shim enters his life, he starts to see the world like never before as he gains the power to see evil spirits. As fate wants it, both the high schoolers get intertwined in mysterious situations. This will be Da Reum’s first time as a lead in a K-Drama.
Kim Sae Ron said, “As it is a fantasy genre [drama] that stirs up your imagination, it was so fun reading the script. Ga Doo Shim, who rejects her fate and tries to live the life she wants, was also charming. I think it is a drama you will enjoy. Please look forward to it.”
Nam Da Reum stated, “I really had fun reading the script, and Na Woo Soo’s contrast from my previous characters felt more charming. Meeting the director gave me further anticipation and assurance about the project. I will work hard in order for the drama to receive lots of love, so please show lots of support for ‘Excellent Shaman Ga Doo Shim.’”
“Excellent Shaman Ga Doo Shim” will begin filming this May and is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2021 via Kakao TV. It is a short drama with 12 episodes and a duration of 20 minutes each.
