May 5 is celebrated as Nation Children’s Day in Korea and in honour of this, Suzy Bae and Kim Go Eun made heartwarming donations to help the children in need.
Suzy’s agency, Management SOOP, disclosed on May 4, “Suzy donated 100 million won (approximately $89,200) to the Happy Sharing Taekwondo Federation in light of Children’s Day.” The donated funds will support children in orphanages and youngsters who can no longer receive protection from child welfare institutions.
Suzy has engaged in a number of meaningful philanthropic activities annually, such as helping child cancer patients, low-income families, patients with terminal illness, and COVID-19 efforts. She was also recognized and instated into Honour Society, by the Community Chest of Korea in 2015. It’s members are the people who have donated more than 100 million won.
Actress Kim Go Eun also donated 50 million won to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital. This money will be used to help low-income children who cannot easily receive treatment due to financial issues.
The actress deeply sympathizes with the sick children and their families and she further expressed, “I wish these children can go to school and meet their friends as soon as possible. I hope my small donation will be of some help, and I want to continue to give material and emotional support to them.”
It’s heartening to see such impressive acts that will change the lives of so many for the better.
