K-Pop India Contest 2022 Kolkata Regional Round Ends + Winners Announced

The Regional Rounds of the K-Pop India Contest 2022 have officially ended now and all winners are announced. The Online Round winners have given their best and showed their skills and abilities.

The Korean Association of Kolkata, in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center India, hosted the regional round for the city of Kolkata on June 12. The eligible contestants competed for the titles of champions in the various dance and vocal categories and the winners were announce on 16th June.

WINNERS (DANCE CATEGORY)

The winning group in the dance category was ENIGMA-X. The group, which consists of 9 K-Pop enthusiastic members, was founded one and a half years ago. They created the unique team ENIGMA-X for the competition this year in collaboration with senior K-Popper Kinkini Dasgupta and another K-Pop dancing group, CLAN-X. Despite having huge pressure from the competition and also balancing their personal life, they stayed motivated and gave their best, “The bond we share, the trust we have on each other grew over time. We knew whatever happens we will give our best for this because this is something which has become our passion and love.”

1st Runner Up : Bandana Thapa

2nd Runner Up : Anusha Chettry

WINNER (VOCAL CATEGORY)

Participant Shruti Dasgupta took first place in the Vocal Category.

While sharing about her experience, Shruti states, “This year’s journey has been nothing short of a fairytale so far. I have this mantra, “Hope for the best, but expect the worst.” I kept repeating it in my mind over and over. I felt the pressure more because winning first place means I would be representing my region and I didn’t want to let anyone down. However, I personally found this contest to be my escape from the monotonous humdrum so I just let go all the tension and decided to give my all, to just enjoy myself and hopefully, it’ll be reflected in my finale performance.”

2^nd runner up : Angel Hansda

The champions of both categories will represent their respective Kolkata in the K-Pop India Contest 2022 Final Round on July 9th, where all 20 winners would compete against one another for the first place.
