Netflix has officially confirmed ‘Lovestuck’ as its next romantic comedy, and leading the way are Jung Hae In and Ha Young, whose pairing is already creating quite the buzz. Set in a sleepy countryside village known for its endless rows of yeot (Korean taffy) shops, this quirky and heartfelt drama promises a tale of memory, mischief, and the kind of romance that sticks before you even realize it.

At the heart of the story is Go Eun Sae (played by Ha Young), a brilliant and bold prosecutor working in the Anti-Corruption Investigation Department at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. She’s always been sharp, swift, and strategic, until one day, she wakes up in a rural clinic with no memory of who she is. Surrounded by unfamiliar sights and people, one face steps forward with surprising confidence: Jang Tae Ha, who insists he’s her boyfriend.
Jung Hae In takes on the role of Jang Tae Ha, a former youth boxing champion whose life took an unexpected turn when he entered, and later left, a gang. Now working as a boxing coach in a quiet town, Tae Ha seems to have found peace. But when a final mission from his past leads him to Eun Sae, everything changes. Faced with a woman who doesn’t recognize herself and a moment that calls for quick thinking, he makes a split-second decision to protect her by fabricating a relationship between them.
But what begins as a lie quickly starts to tangle with reality.
As Eun Sae adjusts to her new world, she’s caught off guard by Tae Ha’s warmth and sincerity, qualities that feel strangely familiar. With each passing day, the line between what’s real and what isn’t begins to blur. Their unexpected cohabitation gives way to quiet conversations, gentle misunderstandings, and lingering moments that slowly build into something deeper. And while Eun Sae searches for her lost memories, she begins to wonder if perhaps love is something you can feel, whether you remember it or not.
‘Lovestuck’ is helmed by director Kim Jang Han, whose past works (‘Do You Like Brahms?’, ‘My Demon’) are known for their emotional depth and beautifully nuanced relationships. The script comes from Mo Ji Hye, the writer of ‘You Raise Me Up’, promising a perfect balance of light humor and heartfelt storytelling.
With Jung Hae In bringing his signature emotional subtlety to the role and Ha Young stepping into her first leading rom-com role after impressing audiences in ‘The Trauma Code’, ‘Lovestuck’ is shaping up to be a slow-burn romance filled with sincerity, heart, and that ever-familiar K-drama magic.
As they navigate taffy shops, quiet kitchens, and unexpected feelings, Eun Sae and Tae Ha’s story might just stick with viewers in more ways than one.
