jtbc’s Upcoming Drama ‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ Unveils a Star-Studded Supporting Cast!
On March 25, the production team behind ‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ (literal title) announced the drama’s supporting cast, featuring Lee El, Kang Ki Doong, Lee Joo Young, and Jo Min Guk, further heightening anticipation for the series.
‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ is a romantic comedy that follows ex-lovers Lee Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An), who first fell in love at 20, reunited at 28, and later parted ways. They cross paths again when Gyeong Do, now a journalist, covers a scandal involving Ji Woo’s husband.
Lee El plays Seo Ji Yeon, Ji Woo’s caring older sister and the poised CEO of Jarim Apparel. Lee Joo Young portrays Park Se Young, a former member of the university theater club Jirimeolryeol, who now runs an art academy while supporting her aspiring actor husband, Cha Woo Sik (Kang Ki Doong). Woo Sik is a passionate dreamer and a devoted husband. Jo Min Guk takes on the role of Lee Jung Min, a used car dealer who maintains friendships from their old theater club despite his frequent travels.
Lee Gyeong Do, Seo Ji Woo, Park Se Young, Cha Woo Sik, and Lee Jung Min formed a close bond during their university days in the theater club, Jirimeolryeol. Though years have passed, their friendship remains strong, and reuniting reignites a sense of youth and nostalgia.
A blend of romance, humor, heartache, and unexpected reunions, ‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ is set to premiere in 2025 on jtbc.
