September 18, 2021 marked the 13th debut anniversary for singer-actress IU. She celebrated her day by donating items that is worth 850 million won. The goods that were donated includes around 2000 articles of clothing, 30,000 water bottles for 20 COVID-19 clinics, and 300 bedding sets for households run by single mothers.
EDAM Entertainment, her agency, disclosed that she came up with the great idea of teaming up with the brands that she endorses to help the people in need. They said,
“Together with GNAL-N, New Balance, Banolim Pizza, BLACKYAK, Evezaly, and Jeju Samdasoo, for whom she is an official spokesmodel, IU has donated 850 million won [approximately $720,000] of products to help the underprivileged and specialized clinics. As the anniversary of her debut approached, IU wanted to donate everyday necessities to those who needed them most,” continued EDAM Entertainment. “IU personally contacted each brand to suggest making a donation, and she contributed half of the cost for each donation.”

In other news, IU will be co-starring with Park Seo Joon for upcoming film ‘Dream’ (working title). The movie is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2021.
