On September 23, HYBE, the global music and entertainment company, made its official entry into India with the establishment of HYBE INDIA ENTERTAINMENT PRIVATE LIMITED.
This marks the company’s fifth overseas subsidiary, following successful expansion in Japan, the United States, Latin America, and China. The new office is based in Mumbai, widely known as India’s entertainment capital and the home of the thriving film and music industry, Bollywood, making it a strategic launchpad for HYBE’s entry into the South Asian market.
HYBE India enters the market with a clear mission statement: ‘Where voices of India become global stories’. They stated, “With nearly 185 million users, India’s music streaming market is the second largest in the world, making it an ideal market for our growth strategy. The rapid rise of K-pop in India highlights the country’s potential, and we are excited to deepen our presence here.”
The company is expected to launch regional auditions and introduce a training system between September and October 2025, designed specifically for Indian talent with the aim of discovering local artists who can resonate both within the country and on the global stage. Additionally, HYBE India will also support promotional activities and local engagement for artists already under the HYBE Music Group to expand in the Indian market.
This expansion is a move of HYBE’s broader ‘Multi-home, Multi-genre’ strategy, which aims to build regionally rooted yet globally competitive artists. With this step, India represents a massive opportunity for HYBE to connect local talent with global audiences.
