K-pop star G-DRAGON’s agency Galaxy Corp. eyes India for its next overseas expansion!
On November 18, Korean industry sources revealed that the AI-driven entertainment tech firm, Galaxy Corp., is preparing to expand into India. Although an official launch date has yet to be confirmed, the company is reportedly assessing the Indian market as it moves toward establishing its fourth overseas branch, following existing operations in Japan, the United States and Hong Kong.
According to The Korea Herald, an insider stated, “Galaxy Corp.’s business division is conducting market research related to entry into India and is also working on establishing an Indian subsidiary. At the end of last year, G-Dragon’s team also inquired locally about concert demand and performance guarantees for the artist’s solo show.”
The expansion supports the company’s global growth plans as it targets a stock market debut early next year.
If confirmed, Galaxy Corp. would be the second Korean entertainment company in India, following HYBE’s Mumbai launch in September. With ongoing restrictions on Korean artists in China, India- which has a population of more than 1.46 billion, is increasingly being viewed as a promising alternative.
Galaxy Corp. recently signed veteran actor Song Kang Ho in August and singer, actor and entertainer Kim Jong Kook in September. The agency is also behind the Netflix hit series ‘Physical: 100.’
