EVNNE is back with a bang, bringing their signature energy and charisma to their latest comeback, ‘HOT MESS’. Released on February 10, ‘HOT MESS’ is the group’s fourth mini-album, and with their latest release, they continue to push boundaries with their dynamic performances and bold concepts, solidifying their place in the industry.
With a name like ‘HOT MESS’ one can only assume what the album’s central genre would be. However, the six-track album features a variety of genres like Pop Rock, R&B, and Brazillian Phonk. The album consists of the title track ‘HOT MESS,’ and the B-sides ‘Birthday,’ ‘Love Like That,’ ‘CROWN,’ ‘Youth,’ and a Korean version of their previously released single ‘景色 (KESHIKI).’

I think our album covers multiple genres rather than just one. We were able to express music of various genres in a fun way with our own unique colors.”

The album is also quite special as some of the group members have participated in writing the lyrics of the songs. YOO SEUNGEON shared, “This album is very memorable to me because I participated in writing the lyrics for the title song for the first time, as well as for the B-side track in the album. It’s very meaningful to know that my own story and lyrics that I wrote can be delivered to our fans, so I cannot wait to share them.”
With ‘HOT MESS’ making waves, fans are curious about what’s next for EVNNE. Talking about how they envision EVNNE’s growth in the coming years, JI YUNSEO shared, “I think we would individually have different goals and visions in the coming years, but as EVNNE, I think one common dream for our future is continuing to have fun on stage and keep making music together. For now, that would apply to our comeback that the seven of us would love to focus on. We are always eager to learn more and improve ourselves, so please look forward to our growth over the years as well.”

EVNNE is a seven-member South Korean boy group managed by Jellyfish Entertainment that debuted in September 2023. The members include KEITA, PARK HANBIN, LEE JEONGHYEON, YOO SEUNGEON, JI YUNSEO, MUN JUNGHYUN, and PARK JIHOO. The group name EVNNE, which stands for “Evening’s Newest Étoiles,” holds the members’ wishes to shine higher and brighter than anybody else and to have all eyes on them. Recently, the group won the Amazing Artist (Male) award the 32nd Hanteo Music Award 2024.
