‘The Remarried Empress’ is a fantasy romance based on the web novel of the same name. It follows Navier, played by Shin Min Ah, the beloved empress of the Eastern Empire, known for her wisdom and grace. After an unexpected and heartbreaking divorce request from Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon), she seeks remarriage to Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk) of the Western Kingdom.
Ju Ji Hoon portrays Sovieshu, a powerful monarch raised alongside Navier. Although he once vowed never to take a concubine, he breaks that promise and shocks Navier with a divorce.
Lee Jong Suk stars as the charming crown prince of the Western Empire, Heinrey. He initially approaches Navier with hidden motives, but gradually develops genuine feelings, setting the stage for a compelling romance.
Lee Se Young plays Rashta, a former slave known for her beauty. After learning her rescuer is the Eastern Empire’s emperor, she begins to dream of a life she never imagined.
The cast also includes Lee Bong Ryun as Countess Eliza, Navier’s confidant; Choi Dae Hoon as Lord McKenna, Heinrey’s secretary; Park Ho San as Viscount Lotteshu, Rashta’s former master; Jung Young Joo as Albani, Rashta’s foster mother; and Nam Yoon Ho as Baron Lante, Emperor Sovieshu’s secretary.
Directed by Jo Soo Won, ‘The Remarried Empress’ is set to premiere in 2026 on Disney+.
