BTS has created history at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.
The winners of the 2022 Billboard Music Trophies were announced on May 15, local time, and BTS took home three of the six awards for which they were nominated.
The group has broke their own record at the Billboard Music Awards in 2022, receiving seven nominations for the forthcoming event.
Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global Artist (excluding the United States), Top Selling Song (nominated twice with “Butter” and “Permission To Dance”), Top Billboard Global Song (outside the United States), and Top Rock Song are among their nominations.
BTS won ‘TOP DUO/GROUP’, ‘TOP SONG SALES ARTIST’, and TOP SELLING SONG (for their mega hit “Butter”) at this year’s event, marking the second year in a row that they have won all 3 honours. They also wins Top Duo/Group at the Billboard Music Awards for the third time in 2022. (they first won the award in 2019). And with this win, BTS becomes the most awarded group in BBMA’s history by winning 12 Billboard Music Awards, breaking Destiny’s Child‘s 17-year-old record of 11 wins.
