BTS’ Jungkook officially released his digital solo single ‘SEVEN’!
On 14 July at 1 PM KST, Jungkook officially dropped his solo debut single ‘SEVEN’ MV.
The song’s a blend of UK garage rhythm and acoustic guitar tones is topped with a delicate melodic line. The song’s lyrics are a romantic serenade that expresses the singer’s desire to be with his loved one every day of the week.
Actress Han So-hee appeared in the official video as his on-screen girlfriend and American rapper Latto also featured in this summer single. The teaser of the song was released on the 13th of July at midnight KST and In 12 hours, the teaser got over 6.4 million views on YouTube. The full MV garnered so much attention right after its release. The current view count of the MV is over 1.3 crore views.
The song immediately gained popularity on US iTunes, with both versions of the song charting in the top 5.
The song surpassed BTS’ ‘Take Two’ and reached the top position in under 1 hour and 6 minutes after its release. It is now the fastest song by a K-Pop artist to reach the #1 spot on the US iTunes chart.
Earlier today in an exclusive interview to media, Jungkook stated,
“As the sixth person from BTS I released my solo song ‘Seven’. It is a song/serenade that I sing for my lover from Monday to Sunday. It’s a summer song that you can enjoy. Whether you exercise, drive or hang out with your friends it’s a song that suits the vibe.”
‘SEVEN’ was described in a statement from Big Hit as the official start of Jungkook’s solo career. Jungkook will perform ‘SEVEN’ live for the first time in the ‘2023 Summer Concert Series of the show ‘Good Morning America’ in New York on 14th July, 7.30 PM KST.
