On April 3, BTS member Jin was seen volunteering in Andong, a region recently affected by wildfires. Later, his agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, confirmed his participation in a meal service at Gilan Middle School in Gilan-myeon, Andong-si.
It was reported that Jin quietly assisted in serving meals to residents displaced by the fires. Dressed in a black hat, mask, and grey apron, he attempted to maintain a low profile while offering practical support and words of encouragement to those affected.
BIGHIT MUSIC stated, “Jin wanted to provide even a small amount of help to those affected by the wildfire, so he decided to participate in the volunteer activity.” The meal service was part of an initiative organized by Theborn Korea, led by entrepreneur Baek Jong Won, which has been providing free meals to evacuees and firefighters since March 28.
In addition to Jin’s on-the-ground efforts, other members of BTS have also contributed to wildfire recovery. Reports indicate that Jungkook donated 1 billion won, V donated 200 million won, and RM, J-Hope, and Suga each donated 100 million won.
Jin has a history of philanthropic involvement, including his membership in UNICEF Korea’s Honor Society. He also previously donated 100 million won to Korea University Medical Center to support patients with rare diseases in developing countries.
His recent volunteer work in Andong, alongside the financial contributions from his fellow BTS members, highlights their ongoing commitment to supporting those in need during times of crisis.
